Talk about making an entrance!
Met Gala co-chair and Lincoln brand ambassador Serena Williams steps into the elegant 80th Anniversary Continental Coach Door Edition with iconic center-opening doors as she gets ready to make a glamourous entrance at fashion’s most highly anticipated night.
Serena is more than a Lincoln brand ambassador. She first learned how to drive in a Lincoln vehicle and has owned Lincolns throughout her life. This particular vehicle is an iconic part of fashion history and pop culture - definitely worthy of "making an entrance" at one of the industry’s most important moments.
Exuding glamour and allure, the Lincoln Continental with center-opening doors catapulted the brand into its own level of celebrity in the 60s and 70s. Globally renowned luxury brands such as Cartier, Givenchy, Pucci and Bill Blass lent their design aesthetic to the vehicle in the 1970s, welcoming Lincoln as one of the first auto brands to collaborate within the fashion industry. Celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe, Pablo Picasso, Elizabeth Taylor, Elvis Presley, and Frank Sinatra all owned and drove the iconic vehicles. And now, Serena Williams will be added to this premier group with her glamorous arrival to the Met Gala Monday evening.
