Ford Motor Company is expanding its autonomous vehicle testing, as it becomes the first company to test self-driving vehicles in Washington, D.C.
The company, which began testing self-driving vehicles in Miami-Dade County earlier this year, plans to continue developing the technology behind its autonomous vehicles in partnership with Argo AI and testing the customer experience through new business pilots.
Washington, D.C. is one of the largest markets in the U.S., with its population growing significantly during the workday. In addition to commuters, the nation’s capital sees millions of visitors every year, major conferences, a popular food scene and high demand for ride-hailing and delivery services.
