AutoAlliance Thailand (AAT), the joint venture between Ford and Mazda, marked a significant milestone on September 7 when it produced its 3 millionth unit. AAT later celebrated the achievement on September 24, including around 100 Ford and Mazda senior management and employees. Six current models were on display at the celebration event, further highlighting the company’s growth and success in this region.
“The key to AAT’s success is our strong employee teamwork and commitment, vital support from the parent companies and significant contributions from our suppliers,” says Masao Harada, president & CEO, AAT. “I want to recognize everyone’s hard work that went into building great vehicles at AAT. This 3-million milestone is not only an important testimony of the trust from our customers, but also the trust from our parent companies.”
Established in 1995, AAT has operated in Thailand for more than 22 years, producing vehicles for Ford and Mazda and delivering a diverse and growing lineup to our customers worldwide. Following the rollout of its 1 millionth unit in 2007 and 2 millionth unit in 2014, AAT has sustained rapid growth each year.
“AAT will continue to grow and remain the key manufacturing base for Ford and Mazda in Thailand,” says Terry Sapsford, director of manufacturing, Ford Asia Pacific and board of directors member, AAT. “Both parent companies trust and respect the AAT team and have high expectations for continuous delivery of quality products to worldwide markets. I am confident we will all share in continued achievements and success now and in the future with AAT.”
With its commitment to continued sustainable growth, AAT is well on its way toward producing its 4 millionth unit, and everyone at Ford is looking forward to that next announcement.
