Snapshot of Ford’s International Women’s Day Celebration across Asia Pacific

International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8 every year. Here’s a quick look at how our different teams in Asia Pacific marked the special occasion.

Ford Philippines kicked the day off with a Zumba dance activity and gift-giving session, held in collaboration with Haven for Women, a non-profit organization that helps provide temporary shelter to women who are victims of various forms of abuse.

At a Lunch and Learn session, the employees gathered to listen to two inspiring women leaders speak about achieving success in both their personal and professional lives.

Lastly, the employees bonded over a special movie night with friends and families. The film of choice was Captain Marvel, Marvel Studio’s latest movie offering starring a female superhero.

At our Nanjing REC location, Women’s Day was expanded into a month-long affair. Throughout March, as much as ten activities are being organized by the Nanjing Professional Women Network (PWN) to encourage our female employees to “Care for Yourself, Care for Your Family, as well as Care for the Society.” These include practical classes like dress tailoring, painting and DIY sessions.

The Shanghai Professional Women Network (PWN) invited ten leaders to share their experience and insights at a Speed Mentoring event on Mar 7 at our Ford Shanghai office. During the event, mentees had a five-minute 1:1 discussion with each of the mentors. Mentees can experience more interactions with senior leadership for different functions to broaden their horizons and also obtain different views for their career development in this event.

Four outstanding female employees from Changan Ford were included in the Chongqing “Women Power” photography exhibition running from Mar 9 to Mar 20. The exhibition aims to showcase inspiring women-led stories through photography as a medium.

In Thailand, the team commemorated International Women’s Day by calling for equality and eliminating bias through a series of photos around the theme #BalanceforBetter.

FLH hosted a health session to raise awareness on the importance of a good diet. A professional dietician was invited to talk about how food affects health and emotions.

Meanwhile, the team in India held a day-long program filled with fun activities like a treasure hunt and a stand-up comedy session.
