On April 10, Ford Australia ran the annual “Hot Dogs and Hot Rods” to raise much-needed funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). A highlight of the Ford Australia calendar, Hot Dogs and Hot Rods includes a display of current and historical vehicles, a live and online auction and a barbecue.
Each year, the event supports JDRF and their efforts in supporting Type 1 Diabetes medical research. Ford employees, suppliers and external car clubs come together to display their vehicles at the Asia Pacific Product Development Campus in Campbellfield, Melbourne. Suppliers also donate prizes for the live auction.
This year, over 62 vehicles registered to be displayed while our Ford Australia Design Team provided some great art pieces which were auctioned online. We were also delighted to host Clinton Meehan from JDRF and Erin and Hunter (aged 4) who stole the show, telling their stories about living with Type 1 Diabetes.
All together, the team raised AUD $7,091.30 for JDRF, helping to turn Type One into Type None, all while having a lot of fun!
