On May 14, Ford Korea successfully held the ‘Mustang and Her Speed’ event at the internationally authorized Inje Speedium, one of seven circuit tracks built in South Korea, as the sequel to last year’s ‘Mustang and Her Story’ campaign, where Ford Korea invited eight female Mustang enthusiasts as well as social influencers to share their personal experiences with the Mustangs.
While the previous project ‘Mustang and Her Story’ displayed the emotional connections between the female owner and the Mustang, ‘Mustang and Her Speed’ showed the wild, dynamic side of the Mustang by inviting a group of 8 Mustang enthusiasts and social influencers to experience the Mustang circuit driving, gymkhana driving and drifting sessions after a circuit license education for safety training. With the number of female Mustang owners rising, this event was organized to target potential female customers and to captivate the Mustang’s appeal as a hip, unique but also suitable for all drivers in daily lives. Therefore, at the event, Mustang was portrayed as a sports car suited to serve a variety of needs, a perfect car to express individual identity.
One of the participants and a member of the MotorTime racing team, Young-Mi Kim praised the Mustang, labelling it as the ‘most iconic sports cars of all time’. As an experienced driver of a distinct range of race cars, she was especially dumbfounded by the feel and sound of Mustang’s engine that awoke her primitive instincts for speed. Despite circuit racing, she expressed her admiration for Mustang’s stable handling, resulting in smooth curves on the track.
The ‘Mustang and Her Speed’ was created into a short video clip to be shared with Ford fans in Korea in one of Korea’s largest hybrid media outlet Insight, as well as Ford Korea Facebook and Naver Post. There were numerous positive feedbacks in the comments section, such as complimenting the sleek color and design of the Mustang and wanting to experience the power of the Mustang on a real circuit track.
The Mustang, which has been sold ever since Ford Korea was established, has become iconic sports car loved by young auto enthusiast more than 20 years.
