On May 24, the first "ForDR" Emergency Response Training Session specifically designed for Ford owners and community residents in 2025 was successfully held at the Ford Beyond Xinfu Shiyu Space in Hefei.

This event was organized by Ford China in collaboration with Ford Beyond and the local non-governmental rescue organization, Hefei Blue Sky Rescue Team. Approximately 40 local Ford owners and community residents attended the training. Su Qin, the Captain of the Hefei Blue Sky Rescue Team (National Emergency Responder), and her team member Hong Chenggang conducted a half-day, professional, and practical training session for the attendees. By integrating theoretical knowledge with real-world application, the training helped participants acquire practical skills and gain a deeper understanding of vehicle performance and rescue operations in complex scenarios.

The morning session featured three structured indoor modules, The first module covered basic first aid knowledge. Through scenario-based demonstrations, the instructor vividly showed participants essential first aid skills, including CPR, the Heimlich maneuver, and emergency responses for trauma and common medical emergencies. Attendees were actively encouraged to practice these life-saving skills under expert guidance.

The second module focused on addressing local common disasters. Given local characteristics of Hefei, Captain Su provided detailed guidelines for responding to earthquakes and other natural disasters. The third module of the training was dedicated to vehicle rescue and escape techniques. Participants received training on self-rescue methods for vehicle submersion and towing safety.

Upon completion of the morning session, all certified participants officially joined the "ForDR Alliance" as members. Furthermore, the cooperation memorandum was signed between the Hefei Xinfu Shiyu Ford Beyond dealer and the Hefei Blue Sky Rescue Team, solidifying future collaboration under the "ForDR Alliance" initiative. Hefei Xinfu Shiyu Ford Beyond Dealer has also been officially designated as the first "ForDR Alliance Emergency Support Station" in China. Looking ahead, in the event of a disaster, the Xinfu Shiyu Space will provide rescue support vehicles for the Hefei Blue Sky Rescue Team to assist with emergency response operations. Meanwhile, the dealer will also offer a range of complimentary and preferential services, including vehicle washing, discounted repairs, and modifications, to ensure comprehensive support for ongoing rescue activities.

In the afternoon, participants engaged in practical outdoor training led by coaches from the Ford Beyond Xinfu Shiyu Space.Taking place in the complex terrain of Zipeng Mountain, the training included identifying vehicle entrapment scenarios, developing safe off-road driving techniques, and using vehicle rescue tools in real-world simulations. The hands-on experience enabled participants to gain a clearer understanding of how vehicles can be effectively used in emergency and rescue situations.

This successful training session in Hefei marks the first joint effort between ForDR and Ford Beyond dealers in 2025. The feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive. One participant shared, "The vehicle rescue tips were extremely useful, especially regarding how to quickly break a window using a breaker and what precautions to take when towing a vehicle. I feel much more prepared now. As a member of the ‘ForDR Alliance’, I am committed to continuing to learn and sharing this knowledge to help improve community safety in the future.”

Next month, the ForDR Training Course will continue to be rolled out in three cities — Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Beijing, helping residents in more regions enhance their emergency response capabilities.
